Master Woodcarver: Gene Berman
***Rest in Peace.***The artist, Gene Berman, was a woodcarver who specialized in carving human figures, walking sticks and birds of prey. His favorite media were basswood, tupelo and acrylic paint finishes. Although primarily self-taught, he studied at the American Wood Carving School in Wayne, New Jersey. Since 1990, he honed his skills using a combination of hand and power tools. His efforts resulted in his capturing many first place and best of category awards. He enjoyed mentoring and teaching carvers at the Boynton Beach Florida Woodcarvers club. Gene was honored by the City of Boynton Beach, Florida as one of their 2019 Volunteer Heroes. Gene accepted private commissions for custom carvings. He will be missed by all who knew him.
